How a source enters the package
The project records organisation, stable URL, access date, editorial role, rights position and limitations. Operational rules may cite only sources allowed by the fail-closed package contract.
When sources disagree
Differences are treated as evidence of scope, cultivar, climate or method, not silently averaged. A conservative original band is used or the rule remains unavailable pending review.
No disguised copying
The project links and paraphrases factual context. It does not republish source maps, tables, images or substantial text without explicit compatible rights.
United Kingdom package register
United Kingdom home food garden editorial synthesis — version 1
Global Garden Planner
Original seven-profile model, planting bands and en-GB corpus. It remains an editorial draft until an independent UK agronomic review is recorded.
UK regional climates
Met Office
Supports broad east–west, north–south, maritime and topographic context. The project profiles and month bands are original and are not a transformation of Met Office regions or data.
What is frost and ice?
Met Office
Supports distinguishing ground frost, air frost and current forecast uncertainty. It does not provide an operational sowing date.
Positioning vegetables
Royal Horticultural Society
Supports observing sun, shade, shelter and competition at the final growing position.
Vegetables in containers
Royal Horticultural Society
Supports matching container dimensions and care to crop size. Package depth references remain original editorial values pending review.
Watering vegetables and fruit
Royal Horticultural Society
Supports checking the root zone, growth stage, soil and weather rather than imposing a fixed watering schedule.
Planning a vegetable garden
Royal Horticultural Society
Supports considering soil, cultivar and available space. It is not used to create the package calendar bands.
Bringing plants and wood into Great Britain
UK Government and Animal and Plant Health Agency
Supports checking current rules before bringing or ordering plants and seeds. Great Britain and Northern Ireland can have different requirements.
Using pesticides in your garden, home or allotment
Health and Safety Executive
Supports checking current authorisation and the complete product label. The project does not diagnose or prescribe a pesticide.
