How a source enters the package
Each record identifies the organisation, title, address, access date, purpose, known use conditions and limitation. Reading a publication does not itself permit copying its words, charts, maps or data.
A fact-reference supports attributed facts and original synthesis without redistribution. A research-only source may help define a question but cannot support a published rule.
Australia package register
Australian home food garden editorial synthesis — version 1
Global Garden Planner
Original synthesis for broad Australian profiles. It remains editorial draft until independent agronomic review is recorded.
Australian climate zones
Australian Bureau of Meteorology
Supports the broad distinction between tropical, subtropical, arid and temperate conditions and the role of relief and ocean influence.
Climate knowledge centre
Australian Bureau of Meteorology
Supports Australian seasonal terminology and the northern wet season from October to April and dry season from May to September.
Queensland Vegetable Planting Guide for schools
Health and Wellbeing Queensland
January 2025 guide. Used only to formulate questions and check regional plausibility after the original model is drafted; its chart is not ingested or adapted.
Food gardening: what to plant when
Green Adelaide, Government of South Australia
Monthly Adelaide reference used only to formulate review questions after the original thermal-group model is drafted; no row is ingested or adapted.
Vegetable Sowing Calendar for Darwin and Katherine Regions
Northern Territory Government
Older regional sheet retained for research traceability and review questions only. Its calendar, method, spacing and first-picking table is excluded from operational rules.
Waterwise gardening
Queensland Government
Supports soil improvement, mulching, efficient irrigation, wind protection and grouping plants with similar water needs; not a fixed watering schedule.
Gardener — biosecurity guidance
Australian Government Biosecurity
Supports clean gardening, responsible movement of soil and plants, observation and reporting of unusual pests or disease.
Plate it. Do not plant it.
Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry
Supports using reputable Australian planting material and not planting food products or uncertain imported seed.
Food safety in horticulture
Food Standards Australia New Zealand
Context for hygiene, water, soil, compost and produce handling. Commercial standards are not presented as legal duties for ordinary home gardeners.
Home garden and domestic pest-control products — Agricultural Labelling Code
Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority
Supports the instruction to use only registered home-garden products exactly as labelled; the project does not prescribe chemicals.
Australian Privacy Principles guidelines — key concepts
Office of the Australian Information Commissioner
Used to avoid categorical claims about the extraterritorial reach of Australian privacy law; applicability remains for legal review.
Buying online
Australian Competition and Consumer Commission
Supports preserving non-excludable Australian consumer rights if the service later becomes a covered commercial offering.
Guidelines on equal access to digital goods and services
Australian Human Rights Commission
2025 guidance used as Australian accessibility context alongside WCAG; legal scope remains subject to review.
What each group contributes
- Climate
- BoM supports broad climate and season descriptions. The project does not republish its maps or claim postcode precision.
- Planting timing
- The project thermal-group model creates the operational windows. Queensland, Adelaide and Northern Territory material is research-only: it frames questions after drafting and cannot support a crop rule.
- Care
- Waterwise, biosecurity, food-safety and APVMA guidance defines cautions and boundaries, not a universal recipe.
- Legal context
- OAIC, ACCC and Australian Human Rights Commission pages prevent categorical legal claims; this page provides general context rather than individual legal advice.
When sources disagree
The package preserves geographical scope and date, narrows the claim and reduces confidence. It does not average incompatible regional calendars into false national precision.
No disguised copying
The site does not publish third-party charts, maps, images or substantial text without compatible permission. The three regional planting tables are excluded from operational source IDs; interface explanations and crop synthesis are original project writing.
