How a source enters the package
The project records organization, stable URL, access date, editorial role, rights position and limitations. Operational rules may cite only sources allowed by the fail-closed package contract.
When sources disagree
Differences are treated as evidence of scope, cultivar, climate or method, not silently averaged. A conservative original band is used or the rule remains unavailable pending review.
No disguised copying
The project links and paraphrases factual context. It does not republish source maps, tables, images or substantial text without explicit compatible rights.
United States package register
United States home food garden editorial synthesis — version 1
Global Garden Planner
Original seven-profile model and localized corpus. It remains an editorial draft until an independent U.S. agronomic review is recorded.
2023 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map — map creation and interpretation
United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service
Supports treating average annual extreme minimum temperature as one cold-risk reference, not a complete planting calendar or current forecast.
U.S. Climate Normals
NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information
Supports the use of long-period climate context and the warning that station and regional conditions vary; it does not supply operational month rows.
Regional Climate Centers
NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information
Supports directing people to regional and local climate expertise rather than claiming that a national profile resolves a site.
Vegetable Gardening
USDA National Agricultural Library
Supports the planning sequence of site selection, soil or mix preparation, planting, maintenance, and harvest, plus referral to Cooperative Extension.
Seeds and Plants
USDA National Agricultural Library
Supports checking labeled seed from reputable sources and distinguishes planting material quality from a calendar recommendation.
Non-compliant seeds: what you need to know
USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service
Supports checking import and movement requirements and avoiding unidentified or non-compliant seed bought online.
Introduction to pesticide labels
United States Environmental Protection Agency
Supports the instruction to use a registered product only in a manner consistent with its complete labeling; the project does not prescribe pesticides.
About WaterSense
United States Environmental Protection Agency
Supports water-efficiency context and checking actual need; it is not used to impose a fixed watering schedule.
Privacy and security — consumer protection guidance
United States Federal Trade Commission
Supports truthful, clear privacy representations that match actual data practices. Federal and state applicability remains for legal review.
Guidance on web accessibility and the ADA
United States Department of Justice
Provides U.S. accessibility context. The project does not infer categorical legal conformity from automated checks.
